Axel Bernabe has been an attorney with Constantine Cannon since June 2004. Mr. Bernabe concentrates his practice on antitrust litigation and counseling, complex commercial litigation and state antitrust agency proceedings. Mr. Bernabe's practice includes counseling clients in the insurance and real estate brokerage and generic pharmaceutical industries. Prior to joining Constantine Cannon, Mr. Bernabe was an associate with the Antitrust Department of Coudert Brothers LLP where he represented Fortune 500 companies in antitrust related litigation as well providing counsel on merger review, intellectual property licensing agreements, distribution agreements, sale of assets agreements and joint ventures. Mr. Bernabe graduated with Great Distinction from the Faculty of Law of McGill University in 2001, obtaining both a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. - J.D Equ.) and a Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.). While in law school, Mr. Bernabe worked as Assistant Editor for the Quebec Journal of International Law. He also spent a summer in Tbilisi as an intern with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Georgia and completed a summer internship with the Canadian Competition Bureau. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Bernabe spent 8 months with the Canadian Department of Justice before becoming a litigation associate with Coudert Brothers. While at the Department of Justice, Mr. Bernabe assisted the Trade Litigation group in articulating Canada's position regarding Chapter 11 of the North American Free Trade Agreement. Mr. Bernabe is admitted to the New York State Bar and to the Law Society of Upper Canada (Ontario, Canada). He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. Mr. Bernabe is fluent in French and Italian. |
