Laura Sorenson has been an attorney in the New York office of Constantine Cannon since 2008. Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Sorenson had worked with the Firm on a contract basis since July 2005. Ms. Sorenson concentrates her practice on antitrust and complex commercial litigation. While with Constantine Cannon, Ms. Sorenson has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in antitrust cases and has been involved extensively with pre-trial discovery. Ms. Sorenson assisted with implementing and conducting a compliance monitoring initiative of a Fortune 250 insurance and risk management corporation in response to government investigations. Ms. Sorenson was part of the legal team representing Discover Financial Services LLC in their lawsuit against Visa and MasterCard for damages stemming from their rules prohibiting banks from issuing Discover cards. Most recently, Ms. Sorenson has been involved with all phases of e-discovery in two complex litigations. Ms. Sorenson graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law where she earned both her J.D. (2003) and LL.M. in International Law (2004). While in law school, Ms. Sorenson was a member of the Journal of Gender, Race, and Justice and was co-chair of the Native American Law Students Association. Ms. Sorenson also worked extensively in the Legal Clinic at the University of Iowa, focusing on consumer law and domestic violence. During her studies, she worked as a Research Assistant in Native American Studies and Mediation. Ms. Sorenson also interned with the Minnesota Public Defenders' Office and Department of Veterans Affairs. Ms. Sorenson received her B.A. in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from James Madison College at Michigan State University (1999). Ms. Sorenson is admitted to practice in New York and Iowa. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. |
